A native of Augusta, Georgia, tenor Timothy Miller captivates audiences with his powerful voice and dynamic artistry. Known for his versatility on both operatic and concert stages, Miller has earned national and international acclaim for performances that span classical masterpieces to contemporary works.
Timothy has brought to life roles in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Anthony Davis’ X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X, Verdi’s Aida, Puccini’s La Bohème, Comrade Alexander Ossipon in Curtis Bryant’s The Secret Agent (World Premiere), Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. His portrayal of Crab Man in Porgy and Bess earned critical acclaim during an international tour including performances at Paris’ Opéra-Comique and theaters in Luxembourg, Granada, and Normandy with the Atlanta Opera and chorus.
Miller’s concert repertoire includes tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, and Adolphus Hailstork’s I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes. He has appeared as a featured soloist with the Atlanta Music Festival alongside legendary soprano Jessye Norman, performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for its beloved Christmas and MLK celebration concerts, and collaborated with the Emory Chamber Music Society. Additional highlights include tours with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and the world premiere of Requiem Americano with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra in 2025.
Perhaps most widely recognized for his stirring rendition of “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch at Atlanta Braves home games, Miller’s voice resonated on an international stage as the soloist for Game 5 of the 2021 World Series. His artistry has also been featured in promos for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, Bob’s Burgers, as well as local and national commercials.
Timothy Miller holds a B.A. degree from Morehouse College and an M.M. degree from Mannes College of Music in New York. In addition to his thriving performance career, he serves as Assistant Professor of Voice and Music at Morehouse College inspiring the next generation of artists.
